Ruby is our family dog. When she was 4 years old, she had eight puppies. We loved them all dearly; family members and friends adopted five. As we searched for homes for the other three, we grew closer to them and knew they would stay and be a part of our family. Ruby is an Australian shepherd; the puppy's father was an Australian Cattle Dog, just like Bluey. The puppies' official breed is known as Texas Heelers, which is a mix of Australian shepherd and cattledog. We jokingly called them “dingoes” because they were so active and always running around. They are all natural herders and a lot of fun to have around.
